Fils du bluesman Calvin Jackson et de Linda Burnside, Cedric grandit à Holly Springs. Il est le petit-fils du célèbre bluesman R.L. Burnside. Il baigne dans la musique depuis son plus jeune âge et commence à jouer de la batterie assez jeune. Pour ce premier album, Cedric est associé à son oncle le guitariste Garry Burnside. Entre Blues puissant et Rock seventies, il s'agit d'un album prometteur plutôt sympathique.
Son of bluesman Calvin Jackson and Linda Burnside, Cedric grew up in Holly Springs. He is the grandson of the famous bluesman R.L. Burnside. He has been immersed in music since his youngest age and started playing drums quite young. For this first album, Cedric is associated with his uncle, guitarist Garry Burnside. Between powerful blues and seventies rock, it is a promising, rather nice album.

Pour son second album, le duo Cedric Burnside & Lightnin' Malcolm - ils sont tous les deux batteurs et guitaristes - mélange son Hill Country Blues traditionnel avec des éléments Rock et Funk. Un programme vraiment brut et excitant avec des moments intenses comme "R.L. Burnside", "My sweetheart", "Don't just sing about the blues", "She's got somethin' on me", "She don't love me no more" (avec Jason Ricci à l'harmonica), "World full of trouble", "Tryin' not to pull my gun".
For their second album, the duo Cedric Burnside & Lightnin' Malcolm - they are both drummers and guitarists - mixes his traditional Hill Country Blues with Rock and Funk elements. A truly raw and exciting program with intense moments like "R.L. Burnside", "My sweetheart", "Don't just sing about the blues", "She's got somethin' on me", "She don't love me no more" (with Jason Ricci on harmonica), "World full of trouble", "Tryin' not to pull my gun".

"Do you know what I think", "Fire it up", l'acoustique "Mississippi blues", "That thang" et la reprise de "Hidden charms" de Willie Dixon sur un mode Zydeco sont des pistes intéressantes.
Association between Bernard Allison and Cedric Burnside, both from prestigious blues families. Electric Blues mixed with Hill Country Blues with some Rock, Funk or Hip-Hop accents. Les deux hommes délivrent un Hill Country Blues contenant de nombreux éléments Rock. Un programme intéressant quoiqu'inégal avec "Bloodstone", "'Til they bury me" (avec Vasti Jackson à la guitare), l'hypnotique "Wash my hands", "I'll do anything for your love", "I don't care what they say".
For this album, Cedric Burnside teams up with guitarist-bassist Trenton Ayers (son of bluesman "Little" Joe Ayers). The two men deliver a Hill Country Blues containing many Rock elements. An interesting although uneven program with "Bloodstone", "'Til they bury me" (with Vasti Jackson on guitar), the hypnotic "Wash my hands", “I’ll do anything for your love”, “I don’t care what they say”.
