I WAS RAISED ON THE BLUESBlack Magic January 1998 |
King. Le programme s'avère intense avec de superbes titres comme "Chip off the old block", "I was raised on the blues", "Can I get an Amen", "Herb stuffing", "Sneaky suspicion". Un excellent album de retour aux affaires. Although he abandoned music in the 80's - he runs a restaurant in Nashville - Johnny Jones made a remarkable comeback in 1995. It is indeed for the dutch label Black Magic which allows him to record this album produced by Fred James. Johnny shows that he is still a remarkable singer and a catchy guitarist inspired by B.B. An excellent back to business album. |

IN THE HOUSE : LIVE AT LUCERNECrosscut November 1999 |
CAN I GET AN AMENBlue Label 2007 |
On apprécie notamment sa reprise de "Don't throw your love on me so strong" et aussi "Chip off the old block", "I was raised on the blues". A la fin, un duo avec son ami Charles "Wigg" Walker sur "Ain't nothing a young girl can do". A good live album in which Johnny plays his best titles with feeling, showing that he is still an excellent singer and a superb guitarist. We particularly appreciate his cover of "Don't throw your love on me so strong" and also "Chip off the old block", "I was raised on the blues". At the end, a duet with his friend Charles "Wigg" Walker on "Ain't nothing a young girl can do". |
