Grâce à son manager Bruce Feiner, Johnny démarre une fructueuse collaboration avec le label anglais JSP dirigé par John Stedman. Il délivre ici un programme inégal entre Soul et Blues avec quelques moments intéressants comme "Don't worry about it", "Sweet woman", "I got a problem" ou "I feel so good". Pour le label, Johnny se fera également producteur pour Deitra Farr ou George Stancell.

Avec le groupe texan The Rays, Johnny propose cet album qui mélange Blues, Folk et Rock sous l'impulsion du bassiste Bob Trenchard qui a composé toute la tracklist. Mais la production est trop lisse et les compositions trop conventionnelles. On peut éventuellement retenir les deux compositions les plus blues : "Train keep rolling" et "Never found a smoking gun".
With the Texas band The Rays, Johnny presents this album, a blend of Blues, Folk and Rock, driven by bassist Bob Trenchard who composed the entire tracklist. For this new album on Catfood Records, the production is handled by Jim Gaines. Having signed with a new label – 3rd Street Cigar founded by John Henry – Johnny Rawls remains, however, firmly within his usual Southern Soul vein. The tracklist seems uninspired and frankly lacks originality.

Sur ce disque, Johnny rend hommage à son ami Otis Clay décédé au début de l'année 2016. Il lui dédie notamment la jolie chanson-titre "I miss Otis Clay".
