Quelques titres remarquables à écouter en priorité : "Zydeco groove", "Amazon Annie", "Whatever boils your crawfish", "Railroad blues", "Every now and then", "Zydeco sont pas salés". In addition to singing and keyboards, Lynn also plays accordion. In line with his first LP for Maison de Soul, we also find this excellent Louisiana cocktail more complete and consistent than on "It's party time" (the musicians are almost the same). Some remarkable titles to listen in priority : "Zydeco groove", "Amazon Annie", "Whatever boils your crawfish", "Railroad blues", "Every now and then", "Zydeco sont pas salés". |

THEN AND NOWBlyco 2013 |
This album does not only contain original material. Some tracks come from the Black Top years (two traditional jurés and two live titles) but the rest of the program is new. After a long absence, Lynn August really returns to business, always excellent singer and accordionist. Even if the music seems less striking than before, we can notably remember a remarkable reading of the blues "Five long years". |

FROM BACK IN THE DAYLynn August 2015 |
Lynn delivers his new album mixing New Orleans Rhythm & Blues, Soul and Zydeco. But there are too many covers rendered in a cold and impersonal style. The sound is often synthetic and monotonous. We can nevertheless point out "Part time love" the best title of this sad program. |
