BLOODLINESAlligator 1994 |
HAVE MERCYAlligator 1996 |
NEW YORK STATE OF BLUESAlligator 1998 |
Long hot night", "A case of the blues", "Young folks' blues", "New York state of blues". Third and last album for the Alligator label, Michael Hill refocuses this opus on the Blues with nice titles like "Long hot night", "A case of the blues", "Young folks' blues", New York state of blues. But overall, this album seems more conventional to me compared to the two previous ones. |

Here is an imposing double live with a title paying homage to Jimi Hendrix (one of the main influences of Michael Hill). Even if there are some lengths in the program, the concert offers a good overview of the bluesman's repertoire and his guitar skills. Of course, Michael gives pride of place to his own compositions, but we also point out his cover of Cream ("Sunshine of your love"). |

BLACK GOLD AND GODDESSES BOLDJSP GODDESSES AND GOLDJSP 2005 |
In reality, there are very few Blues (a tribute to Hubert Sumlin) in this album produced for the english label JSP. Michael Hill now plays in a contemporary Rock FM style without roughness. In the reissue "Goddesses and gold", you can listen to three additional titles. |
