Barbier à Clarksdale, Wade fit une petite mais marquante carrière de bluesman. Il grave ses premiers morceaux grâce à Paul Oliver et Chris Strachwitz dont le superbe "Barbershop rhythm" avec son ami Robert Curtis Smith (ou R.C. Smith). Wade joue de la guitare et de l'harmonica mais aussi l'affûtage de rasoir. Barber in Clarksdale, Wade had a small but notable career as a bluesman. He recorded his first tracks thanks to Paul Oliver and Chris Strachwitz, including the superb "Barbershop rhythm" with his friend Robert Curtis Smith (or R.C. Smith). Wade plays guitar and harmonica but also razor strop. |

Il s'agit du seul album complet de Wade Walton qui possède une boutique de barbier à Clarksdale. Il l'enregistra pour le label Bluesville sous la supervision de Kenneth Goldstein. Un rare mais superbe album de blues acoustique dans lequel Wade chante de sa voix claire et joue parfaitement de sa guitare (ou de son harmonica) : "Big fat mamma", "Choo choo de Shoo shoo", "Short hair woman", "Blues stay away from me", "Parchman farm". This is the only full-length album by Wade Walton who owns a barber shop in Clarksdale. He recorded it for the Bluesville label under the supervision of Kenneth Goldstein. A rare but superb acoustic blues album in which Wade sings in his clear voice and plays his guitar (or harmonica) perfectly : "Big fat mamma", “Choo choo de Shoo shoo”, “Short hair woman”, “Blues stay away from me”, “Parchman farm”. |
